Maple groves offer us much more than maple syrup! Steve Hamel, Senior Specialist in Biodiversity Restoration at WWF-Canada, will explain during this talk how maple forests’ biodiversity is part of the solution to fight climate change. Hamel will share with us the challenges currently facing Quebec’s sugar bushes, present this important ecosystem and its inhabitants, and propose innovative solutions developed by WWF-Canada for sugar shack owners, municipalities and communities.

Steve Hamel, Senior Specialist, Biodiversity Restoration at WWF-Canada, is passionate about the forests of southern Quebec.
